It depends on the type of plant and your home environment. Most prefer the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again. Always check the soil — it’s better to underwater than overwater.

Every plant has its preference:

• Low light: ZZ plant, snake plant, pothos.
• Medium light: Peace lily, philodendron, rubber plant.
• Bright/indirect: Monstera, fiddle leaf fig, succulents.
  
  Avoid harsh midday sun unless your plant is sun-loving.
  

Yellow leaves = usually overwatering.

Brown tips = often low humidity or too much direct light.

Trim damaged leaves and adjust watering or placement — your plant will bounce back.

Yes! Feed them once a month during the growing season (spring–summer) with a diluted houseplant fertilizer. Skip feeding in fall and winter when plants rest.

If roots are growing through the drainage holes or the plant dries out quickly after watering, it’s time. Move it to a pot about 1–2 inches wider with fresh soil.
